11th June Winternationals Saturday Day 3 2016 - 5974-ZF-8051-45416-1-001

2015/2016 was the inaugural championship series for professional Drag Racing under ‘400 Thunder’ leadership.

Seven events were hosted for the newly named category ‘Pro Alcohol”.

23 Teams competed overall at events held in Darwin, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane.

Reed Racing competed at all 7 events and are able to boast finishing 3rd overall.

The glory of winning at Sydney Dragway for the East Coast Nationals in September was a highlight but was quickly followed by disappointment in Perth after damaging a lot of parts at both events held at the Perth Motorplex.

Our home track Willowbank Raceway saw a ‘Runners Up’ finish at the Easter weekend race – adding to the highlights.  Unfortunately after a brush with the wall at the following event in Sydney during the semi-finals it was back to the workshop for more repairs before heading to Willowbank for the next race.

The Winternationals which is the largest championship drag racing event held outside of North America and was also the final championship round of ‘400 Thunder’ series season.

Both sides of the track were at capacity and completely jam packed until the final pass of the weekend.  Pro Alcohol didn’t disappoint the crowds with some of the most spectacular runs in history.  Steve was able to comfortably qualify in 3rd position running his quickest et of 5.501 seconds.  This was definitely another highlight of this championship season.

All will kick off for the 2016/2017 ‘400 Thunder’ championship season at Sydney Dragway in November.  Again you will see the Reed Racing team battle it out at the 3 best complexes drag racing has to offer in Perth, Sydney & Brisbane.
